Muzza shows he’s got what it takes

LawsWatch is pleased to report that Muzza (kennel name Mental Muzza of Guyton) has been named Vision Obedience Club’s Mayoral Lackey of the Year following an outstanding performance on the Wanganui District Council’s website in the past week.

“When I picked him up from the pound three years ago I wasn’t sure he had what it takes,” said his proud owner/trainer Michael Laws. “But persistent training, and persistent use of a very clever electric shock delivering apparatus – well, I’m sure you can guess where – paid off when he obediently put his paw print on the press release I wrote for him last week.”

Muzza, as Mayor Michael fondly calls his faithful companion, narrowly beat out Mr and Mrs G Pleasants’ Killer of St John for the Mayoral Lackey title. Mayor Michael said that though he lacked the killer instinct displayed by the Pleasants’ four-legged friend, Muzza more than made up for it in other areas.

“He’s so well behaved at council meetings, I sometimes forget he’s even in the room. But then his big brown eyes gaze at me across the table and his face screws up in such bewildered fashion, and I realise he’s just waiting for the signal from me to leap into action,” said Mayor Michael.

“I have to confess that I sometimes like to tease him. I give him our secret signal – a half wink – but as soon as he starts barking and growling I push the secret shock button in my pocket and he sits back looking even more hurt and puzzled. I know … I know … it’s cruel and I shouldn’t do it, but holy shit, it IS fun.”

Mayor refutes McGregor & Arts Trust claims - 28/06/07

Mayor Michael Laws today refuted comments by both Cr Don McGregor and the Arts, Culture & Heritage Trust after the council's unanimous decision, during its 2007/8 Annual Plan process, to not renew its $30,000 funding to the Trust.

Allegations by Cr McGregor disputed - 28/06/07

Cr Murray Hughes has disputed many of the issues raised by Cr Don McGregor in his statement (Wanganui Chronicle, 28 June 2007) regarding the funding cut for the Whanganui Arts, Culture and Heritage Development Trust.

I know this is off the subject, but it's too good not to share.

Today’s SST rant featured this. “The best way to encourage contempt for the law is to create silly legislation and then inadequately enforce it.”

This from Mr. Gang Patch bylaw.

What’s got Mickey by the toe?
He saw a headline to be had
And chased like a stillborn cad
He bumped it dancing, we all yawned
It’s gout, he screamed, I’m old, he swore.
Oh Mickey Mayor, You’re such a bore!

Ummm ...

Mickey Mayor is paid per word
That's why he's such a smelly turd!

Let's get back on topic for a second. Muzza Hughes, or "Councillor Shit-for-Brains" as some Council staff call him, has now sunk so low that he's letting Mickey's unashamed fascist tendencies own him completely: "...used by a minority of ratepayers, Cr Hughes said."

He's so fuckin' retarded that he doesn't understand that men, for example, are a "minority". Normally I wouldn't mock the afflicted (except Mickey) but it's an election year, so it's open season on Muzza I'm afraid.

Gout is a disease due to a congenital disorder of uric acid metabolism.

Yet another thing Mickey can blame his parents for. Not only does he suffer from arrested developmental issues, inadequate potty training and psycopathy, but he has to put up with gout aswell.

Ha!

Poor Old Muzza, he's just way out of his depth, but does like all the top ups to his wages, ...with all those lovely committees he has to sit quietly in.

Anonymous said...

Wonder how Muzza's breeding programme is going? How many Vision places have been filled to date.?

Good letter by Rob V today ... hang in there mate! Stand by for another crop of Mickey lies and bullshit though.

Anonymous said...

Has any one notice how many letter's to the editor are against Laws, where is the support he reckons he has for his job?

Anonymous said...

Your poor old mayor, 50 and still no way better to go than stay in Wanganui for another 3 years!

Anonymous said...

It's apparent from Mickey's ridiculous over-reactions (here and elsewhere) whenever Rob Vinsen puts the truth in the public eye that he sees Rob as a major threat and that he's scared shitless.

So go for it, MickeyMan, crank up your bullshit machine and let's hear you quaking in your understandably insecure booties.

Can someone confirm or not if Miss Lush has left for Wellington?

Letters to the editor don't work. ML has strong support from people who neither read them nor write them. Ross M-A tried them in 2004 and so did Allan Anderson in 2006 and we all know what happened to them. Too many and everyone thinks you're a rehashed Fred Respinger!

As I see it, the mayor has done well, but if he stands again after all the publicity about his family needing him, he will loose support. It's his voters that read Women's Day.

What a poor sad bastard Mickey is -- he couldn't bear to see a VC getting the limelight so he had to jump on the bandwagon in hopes of a headline or three.

James Ward VC died fighting against men like Michael Laws. For Michael Laws to attempt to associate himself with James Ward is like shitting on Charles Upham's grave.

This is the problem with this blog. when ML has a GOOD idea you rubbish it anyway. Thats why his opposition hasn't cracked him these past 3 years because they are indiscriminate. I mean, has the guy taken a voter hit on anything??

Could you explain how anything honourable be in the same sentence as Laws?

What's the bet Thicky Nicki developed her original prejudice because of a lie told her by worthless Mickey?

How do you sad morons drag yourselves out of bed in the morning? Why bother? In fact don't. That way you might not inflict your poison on everyone else. Murray Hughes is very capable of writing that very good letter. He set up House of Travel in Wanganui, the leading travel agent. He is very astute and polled very high 3 years ago. I bet he does the same this time. I know I will vote for him.

Gotta love Ray Stevens pointing out what a knee-jerk asshole Mickey is.

Wanganui needs to have a tornado or two of its own, Mayor Michael Laws said tonight.

“I must say I’m disappointed that we aren’t recognised worldwide for being a tornado hotspot,” said Mayor Michael. “But I’d just like to say that I am setting up three working parties and two ad hoc committees comprising Cr Murray Hughes to figure out how to bring tornadoes to Wanganui. That will certainly help put me on the map.”

Anonymous said...

If its a "given" that no-one can beat ML for the mayoralty (if he stands) what about the council?

The best way to frustrate ML is to have a majority of councilors opposed to him. That means only seven so can we get some people onto council?

Wanganui Mayor Michael Laws today sent a stern message to the Niger Delta kidnappers.

“I’ll only say this once,” he said. “I won’t tolerate any more kidnappings of non-Wanganui citizens. Surely it’s not too much to ask of these lawless brigands that they take at least a couple of Wanganui people hostage.”

Mr Laws said when that happened he’d be on the world’s media calling for the Wanganui hostages to be released and would send Cr Murray Hughes as his personal intermediary to threaten the kidnappers. “Just you watch; that should put me on the map,” he said.

Wanganui Mayor Michael Laws today accused the world’s media of paying far too much attention to the UK terrorist attacks and failing to adequately report whether he would stand again or not.

The smalltown mayor on New Zealand’s North Island, who was forced to resign in disgrace from an earlier local government and parliamentary career, launched an angry attack on the BBC and CNN.

“Don’t they realise that I am the story they should be focusing on. First I said I wouldn’t stand again then I said I would. Surely that’s the real story they should be running. Cr Murray Hughes agrees with me on this one, in fact, he’s going to put out his own press release just as soon as I’ve finished writing it for him. That should put me on the map,” said Mayor Michael.

Mayor Laws said Council would take action to ban tornados from the CBD. "They are urban terrorists. The previous Council's attitude to tornados was to pretend they didn't exist. They misled Wanganui and this new report from Larry Mitchell will show that they in fact covered up hundreds of tornados. Not this mayor."

Anonymous said...

"Wanganui is leading New Zealand with this tornado ban and other councils are very interested. Chester Borrows has shown what a big man he is by getting right behind me on this, though at first he thought when I said I wanted a Bill to ban twisters that I wanted Bill English to make sure that Buddy Holly Show never came back to town," said Mayor Laws.

And let me say to any silly harping critics of this Bill, and especially to Ray Stevens, that it just shows how much they hate Wanganui and how much they love tornados."

Nigerian Tornado - delta blows touched down briefly in Wanganui yesterday to announce her intention of standing in this years wanganui Local Body elections.Blows said 'its about time someone gave the 'gaunt white maggot' some real competition.
Commenting - Current mayor M Laws said he 'welcomed the competition' however was absolutely horrified that Delta couldn't have given him the courtesy of a phone call to announce=nce her arrival - 'just think of the missing photo ops ' he said before blathering on about something else................

MP Chester Borrows today launched his "Tornados and tornado sympathisers" Bill into parliament today. It extends sweeping powers to mayors to suspend democracy and cancel local elections if an area is deemed to be suffering a civil emergency.

Mayor Michael Laws said "It's quite clear that these carping critics will do anything to smear me and my Council, even welcome tornados into Wanganui. We need these measures to deal firmly with them, and continue the Jimmy Ward spirit that Wanganui is famous for."

Anonymous said...

Mayor Laws today slammed the media for giving so much attention to tornados.

"These tornados weren't even born in New Zealand, let alone Wanganui!", he screeched.

The Chronicle brings you another city hall exclusive from Senior Reporter John Maslin.

Mayor is right, again

By JOHN MASLIN

Wanganui Mayor Michael Laws was right again, today.

“I am always right,” said Mayor Laws. “But that’s not all: Everyone else is always wrong.”

Good evidence of the failure of Vision’s “economic miracle” from Bob Walker of all people in the latest Vision City Press. Seems the real estate market has died, and council sources tell me building consents have dried up (and not just because of the price gouging that Mickey and his boys are up to). Face it, Vision has strangled Wangas to death.

Good on Fred Frederikse for putting the boot into Useless Cuncillor Leonie. $31k for doing fuck all. Easier than earning Mickey's money, eh?
