Searching for truth

Michael Laws, Mayor, WanganuiAs Russell Brown recently noted over at Hard News, AOL briefly and disastrously placed online logs of all searches done by about 650,000 randomly selected users over the course of three months earlier this year.

The identity of the searchers themselves was removed and replaced with a unique identifier. Which meant that every single search conducted by a certain user over that six month period could be traced.

"hey losers. suck on democracy and see who's keeps winning. not you wankers with shit jobs and shit IQs and shit little futures having achieved nothing in yoir miserable petty existences. go the mayor - stick it to these wankers."

That was a political message from Vision Wanganui.

I love your loony froth, anon. Keep taking the tablets.

Hey Bob Wa(n)ker (Chairman, Vision Wanganui)

Why do the Vision councillors (who apparently can think for themselves and are free to vote independently of their tyrant leader Laws) need a "chairman" anyway?

This is undeniable proof that Vision councillors are not working for the best interest of the community at large and are the pawns of the Vision architects who think they know what Wanganui needs. It confirms our fears that this council is not a democracy but is actually a Vision experiment.

And is this the same Bob Walker, who the public thought unworthy of local government at the last elections?

Best keep your opinions to your clandestine Vision Board meetings Bob, you know the ones where you convince Marty, Nicky, Murray, Phillipa, Dot (and not so much Sue anymore) that you and your partner in crime Laws have the best interests of Wanganui at heart and that you know what the fuck your doing.

OH dear, Mickey is getting desperate enough to lift Bob's rock and let him slither out into the letters again in the august company of Taylor and Higgie. Spare us, Mickey. Is this really the best you can do?

Hi Bob, nice you could join in the debate. When you see posts like this, you know it's all getting a wee bit too much for some of the lackeys.
Go Lawswatch!

Lets take a poll .... who wants to reduce the numbers of estate agents by one ? Or just keep the poor crazy guy from blowing his top in public?

The people have spoken Bob, you didn't get voted in, remember? I guess if you have the same disregard and contempt for democracy as Mickey Laws does, you didn’t notice that the people of Wangas think that you're all shit! He must feel a bit left out at those Vision board meetings, the only one left that stood in the last election and didn't get elected...poor Bob! At least they still let him write Vision propaganda to the editor and let him say he is the weighty "chairman" of the Vision regime. So what does being chairman of Vision Wanganui actually entail Bob? Feel free to justify your appointment to the role and explain its responsibilities here? (and in the process prove to us just how deep your inadequacy issues really are)

Anonymous said...

If Bob Walker didn't exist, Mickey would have to invent him... oh hang on, maybe he did:-)

Wonder if all Bob's alter egos have been busy writing letters for Mickey too this time?

Anonymous said...

Hi Mickey, why don't you cut off two of your own fingers so you can save on the cost of nail polish? Now I'd like to see that in the next referendum.

Just about as illogical as reducing the number of councillors from 12 to 10 so the council can save money! 10 digits is better than 8 just as 12 councillors is better than 10...that is unless you want a disabled council.

…why would the mayor ask a destiny candidate?…

______________________________

Mmmmm. Lets see…what does the Destiny Leader Bishop Brain Tamaki have in common with the Vision Leader Mayor Michael Laws? To help us with the analysis here are a few interesting facts about Brian Tamaki:

1. Tamaki is seen by his followers as being highly charismatic, while others see him as MANIPULATIVE and a "SPIN-DOCTOR"-type figure.

2. The New Zealand Herald reported on 31 July 2005 that Newstalk ZB host Mike Yardley claimed Tamaki had directed "HIGHLY OFFENSIVE ABUSE" at him while off-air during an interview on July 20. Although he would not disclose the exact ABUSE, other sources have said it included FOUR-LETTER WORDS and PERSONAL ATTACKS.

3. Radio Pacific host John Banks aired an interview with Tamaki that ATTACKED a New Zealand AIDS Foundation's takatapui (Maori for Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual or Transgender person) HIV prevention project, in which Tamaki referred to traditional Maori pre-colonial INTOLERANCE for male homosexuality, a society, he claimed, in which gay and lesbian people were EXTERMINATED. However, many Maori academic authorities question his basis for this claim.

4. In May 2006, Tamaki was voted the LEAST TRUSTED PERSON in New Zealand. (Did Mickey even register on this survey?)

So why would you ask a Destiny candidate to be on your team, Mickey?

Bob and Mickey, real estate agent and scumbag politician - a match made in heaven (or hell)

According to a poll published by Readers Digest in July 2005:

- In the list of most trusted professions, politicians were number 30 of 30, behind even real estate agents, car salesmen and psychics;

_________________________________

Yip, Laws came in at No.64 whereas Brain Tamaki was No.75 on the list. Guess you’ve got a little way to go before you're the LEAST TRUSTED PERSON IN NZ, eh Mickey? You'll have to get past other untrustworthy figures such as Telecom CEO Theresa Guttang (No.66) and Winston Peters (No.71) to get to the bottom of this list…shouldn’t be too hard considering. Go Mickey! We all have faith in you!!!

Note: The above rankings come from the Readers Digest "New Zealand's Most Trusted People" survey published in the June 2006 edition. 75 names were supplied and the participants in the survey were asked to rank them according to their trustworthiness.

Suck on your prune juice, losers.
The mayor will win easily again on Thursday and so will wanganui who want to reduce councillor numbers.
He keeps winning this mayor - the 2004 election, every council vote, the two referenda, the 2006 by-election.

Do you shitheads like banging your heads against brickwalls or do you have a mental condition to champion losing causes. In which case why not try and convince Wangas to spell the place with an 'h'. Oh shit, you lost that one too didn't you?

I was told by Hawke's Bay connections that otherwise reasonably decent but not very bright Wanganui folks would find themselves hopelessly contaminated by the Mickey disease because that's what happened over there.

That's you, Rangi, Dotty, Nicki, Marty, Peppi and all the rest (Murray Hughes and Bob Walker never had a skerrig of anything remotely resemble decency anyway so they don't count).

Another real paper (Manawatu Standard) exposes more of Mickey's lies:

Palmerston North hospital systems cope WEDNESDAY, 23 AUGUST 2006

Wanganui Mayor Michael Laws' predictions that Palmerston North Hospital would be pressured by the transfer of lots of maternity patients and sick children from the neighbouring district have so far failed to eventuate.

.....
On the day the agreement started, Mr Laws forecast that his partner Leonie Brookhammer, who has since given birth to a baby girl at Palmerston North Hospital, would be the first of many Wanganui patients to test MidCentral Health's capacity.
However, with a locum available for child health, and maternity services continuing as usual, Wanganui has been able to care for nearly all its own patients.

I think you may be underestimating Nicki Higgie. Sure she's not very bright but she's made no secret of her adoration for Mickey and has an interesting self-delusional technique to justify regards his abusive, wreckers-ball "style". And on the strength of her recent letter to the paper, she knows the value of putting Vision bullshit into the public domain and knows to say Yes when Mickey tells her to put her name to letters like that.

Does anyone know what was said at the DHB/WDC meeting mentioned on the mayoral web site? Was it open to the public? Who was invited?

I cant imagine the two sides having much to agree on.

Anonymous said...

Reading my Chron and Dominion this morning it looks like that the mayor not only won the council numbers vote but the public argument too. The media coverage was very sympathetic of his position.

Add the Mangamahu and child health taskforce stories and it was a good day for him yesterday (& today). Is there ANYONE who can stop him??

Anonymous said...

Great result for democracy and the rights of the majority of wangas last night. what a shame that people won't accept that their views are not the only ones and should not outweigh those of the majority of Wanganui citizens.

Anonymous said...

Has anyone done the math on the Mayor's claim that representation ratios won't change? That they remain at 2,700 to one whether there are 12 or 10 councilors?

Anonymous said...

It's because the urban wards used to have a given number of councillors and so did the rural wards. Now the urban wards will have 10 councillors and the rural wards will have 10. Problem is, it's the same 10. ML was counting representation for urban wards and ignoring the rural wards. For a change.

Interesting point of view, do you really think ticking a box is expressing 'a view'?
Thank god, we still have 'democracy' so 'people' can express their 'view' and not just be lead like sheep....

Modern democracy is based around this concept. The quality of the opinion matters, or our schools would still be teaching religious lies in science classes, and Michael Laws' lies in modern history.

Anonymous said...

In Whanganui the cynical manipulations of a populist liar are what passes for democracy.

Michael Laws, a plague on your house.

Anonymous said...

Good point. What is so democratic about being presented with two choices and told to take it or leave it?

Anonymous said...

Cr Nickie Higgie claims she is guided by the referendum result's.
What a hypocrite - when it comes to abolishing the Rural Ward she just ignores the result. The rural voters (when separated from urban voters) voted 1800 odd to 300 odd to retain a rural ward. Rural councillors Don McGregor and Ray Stevens are more representative of rural views than the hypocritical Higgie.

Anonymous said...

Only the anti-democratic (or obsessive) would ignore the democratic conclusion from 17,000 people voting in a referendum.

On ticking bosses between limited choices: isn't that what ELECTIONS are all about? Or don't you like them either?

On the morning's media coverage: yes, you could argue that ML got a good ride. Or you could argue that the coverage was a fair reflection of what happened, Does anyone seriously believe (apart from LawsWatch) that the Chronicle and Dominion-Post are in conspiracy with the mayor? Isn't that slightly delusional?
