Snappy duds. I gotta say, Lawswatch, I think you might be wasting your time; we Kiwis have next to no control over our politicians.

You aptly display his evil face - but when he smiles, like before the election, in his intent to dupe people, we need to "Beware the evil behind the smiling eyes"..Those who voted for him could not see it then...hope they can see it now....he has surely shown his true colours...Come on council, stand up to him....the majority of Wanganui is on the side of right...Jill

Good point, Jill. The fact is that we didn't just vote for Laws (those who fell for the dupe) but we also voted for a council. Now it's clear that the majority of Wanganui people have had a gutsful of him, the councillors should be listening to the people and as you say, standing up to him. Instead we just keep seeing them roll over and play dead - and that's not just his Vision crew. So it's really up to us to make sure the councillors know how we feel and put them on notice that they'll be outski if they don't start performing. That cone of silence that seemed to come down over the code of conduct meeting was scary - or at least the Chronicle didn't report anyone like Cr McGregor standing up and being counted.

Ditto for the officers who seem to think that because they're bailing out at the end of the year, it's okay to just keep their heads down and let him run riot like some crazy monkey around the place.

No, the majority of Wanganui has had a gutsful od whinging losers like Webb, Dutton etc. Most homeowners - according to the chron this morning will get rate DECREASES this year. 90% according to those Chron figures. And read the Moutoa story (p1) for some enlightenment.

Laws got 43% of the vote, Martin 27%, Poynter 20%, Stevens 5%, Bullock 4% and inmate Frog 1%. If Poynter didn't stand why the assumption Martin would have picked up ALL his votes. He wouldn't have - Bullock was the next status quo choice ot Stevens. Laws would have won no matter what. It was getting 6 out of 8 of his Vision team on council that was the most impressive feat. And has anybody been to his community meetings? Went to Durie Hill yesterday - standing room only and he even converted me. Smart man.
