Reflective of how Whanganui feels?

Lots of Labour voters
(or people who say they vote Labour) visit Lawswatch, that's for sure. Be nice to have some from the "other side" (like a nation has sides), who are badly represented at present.

If I were maori I would vote for Turia. Met her once and she was the nicest person, happy to chat, listen to opinions which she would never support and explain hers.

Personally if I wanted someone to push my cause I want the pitbull rather than a politician who agrees with the last peron they spoke with. labour and national are both just saying what they think people want to hear.

So that rules out any populists then.

Annon 9:48 I agree with you comments
Turiana is good value...
she has a community health focus and understanding
Been enjoying Maori Party dude Aaron Makutu at the candidates meetings

Laws is attacking the EBs on radio this morning. Defend them Ross M-A!!!!

Anonymous said...

What a useless coward he his. Laws doesn't give a shit about the people he says the EB's hurt. Laws goes after them for splitting up families. I hope his own family life is pretty solid if he's going to go attacking other peoples'.

Joan Street - you're a simpering flake. I'd say Vision were the lucky ones (& Wanganui) that you were never elected. In fact, explain to me how you lost when all the other Vision candidates got elected??

Anonymous said...

Actually his own family life is solid. Doesn't that piss you off!!

Matt Dutton said...

Joan, you're wasting your time with that one. Pissed off is how he wants you.

Anonymous said...

Still haven't explained how your team gets elected Joan and you poll just above Mitchell-Anyon.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, console her Dutts.
Flakes united.

Laws family life is pretty solid alright, despite the best efforts of the rumour mill to try to find SOMETHING to hurt them. Lawswatch, you have so much egg on your face and your credibility is zero based on your attempts to dig dirt on Laws family life. You were sold a dummy and not only did you believe it but you passed it on as gospel. More fool you. Why don't you talk to anyone who lives on their street, hell anyone who actually knows them personally, and you will see the truth. Ask where the Mayors car is every night, and where it leaves from every morning. His home. Suck on that.

Right on, girl. Rock these pricks.

Curious election results, 2004:
Of the Vision candidates, Walker, Taylor and Faumui are selected late so didn't have the same promotional coverage as the others. Faumui still elected at #3 though on WDHB.
Street was selected and announced early - but polls much worse than the others. If she was so widely respected, then how come the result? Just curious. Any local political sages out there?

Actually, I don't give a stuff. Never have never will. But what are you saying: you spread false rumours about yourself? And then get weird when people discuss them?

How much do you pay your shrink?

While you're feeling talkative, though, tell us where the Splash Centre Extension cash is coming from.

Ah more lies. So you don't give a stuff eh, Lawswatch? Digging your hole deeper every second. Keep it up! Wasn't it this site devoting time and effort to informing the public of some fabricated "broken window" rubbish? Crap that you could not find ONE SINGLE person to confirm. Nah you don't give a stuff about that eh? Whatever. Your very intro says you thrive on innuendo and invites "scuttlebutt". All I am saying is, you reap what you sow. You asked for shit on Laws. And you got half of what you wanted. You got shit. Fell into it too. Hook line and sinker .But what a laugh! Of course its not you spreading false rumours! Not you with your blog and all! Must be someone else.

I have watched this site regularly for info and comment and have found it informative and at time entertaining. But the site purports to be fuelled by scurrilous rumour and innuendo, so you have to take everything it says with a large pinch of salt. Obviously it is set up to discredit Michael Laws. Remember that when you read it.

Anonymous said...

Only Michael's words and actions can discredit Michael. It wasn't one of the Watchers who said they don't give a stuff it was me. It isn't the watchers spreading rumours, because I keep hearing them from people who don't read this blog. I think Michael spreads the rumours about himself. Don't ask me why, I guess he's insane or something.

Speaking of insane, I note our students off to Japan will be treated to a "civic welcome" from the Mayor of Nagaizumi-cho. What will the returning Japanese students be treated to when then get here? Laws has already publicly dismissed the sister city arrangement, so it would be hypocritical for him to attend. And what would he say: "piss off you whale-killers", probably. Loony gobshite, or a polite hypocrite? Your choice Mickey.

What insane individual posts at 5.46am in the morning.
Ray - get back to that garage.

Speaking of rumours, you're going to have to do a lot more than gossip to hospitality industry staff to get me to believe your latest, Michael. How was the service? I thought it was a bit obvious making a scene there where everyone could see you.

Michael goes in Wanganui restaurants and tries to create rumours about himself. Sad.

Anonymous said...

C'mon anon - tell us the details.
Bet you made this rumour up to, dickhead.

Anonymous said...

Isn't that interesting??
The mayor has a meal in a Wanganui restaurant and ... shock horror ... there's a rimour that he did. You so called "watchers" are pathetic.

Anonymous said...

Do your own research.

Anonymous said...

Two councillors have had marriage break-ups this year - Sue Pepperell and Ray Stevens.
Not the mayor & yet he gets the crap. There's something seriously wrong with those opposed to his administration, that they stoop this low. Stay out of the gutter.

Anonymous said...

you do it arsehole - you made the allegations.

Anonymous said...

it's like pulling the wings off flies. Add some vague remarks. Watch Lawsmob crank into an abusive paranoid frenzy. Shouldn't you be out campaigning, choosing a by-election candidate?

Laws Watch said...

Lawswatch, you have so much egg on your face and your credibility is zero based on your attempts to dig dirt on Laws family life.

Once again... LawsWatch has stated on several occasions that we are not interested in the Mayor's family life. None of the blog posts mention his family. We do allow some latitude to anonymous commenters (including yourself) but we have deleted comments which made specific reference to his children (and then subsequent comments suggesting the first commenter was wrong to have done so, so as to meantain readability).

Laws's supporters would know this, because they commented on the inappropriateness of the first comment.

For the record, we've taken down many more comments accusing other people - not of being wrong, or even biased (we're happy to leave those) but of being old, ugly or something else which adds nothing to the debate. These are presumably from the Mayor's supporters. Or perhaps from his opponents, abusing other opponents to try and make his aupporters look bad. Who knows? That's blogs for you.

But please don't accuse LawsWatch of "attempting to dig dirt" on anyone's family life. We're interested in what happens at Council, to public assets, and in how people behave in their official capacities.

Fact is, Mickey provides more than enough fodder through his bizzaro behaviour as Mayor for us to care less what he might do or not do at home.

Michael, Bob, Nygwllhuw, whoever else makes up the affectionately titled "Lawsmob". Yes, hi guys I'm talking to you.

Just ignore these anonymous rumour-mongers. They only do it to annoy you; getting you all bent out of shape is exactly what they want. Don't give them the satisfaction. That's my advice.
