DIY referendum

Since our last attempt to gain some sort of consensus about what questions ought to appear in the forthcoming referendum was, to put it mildly, less than successful, we're going to try a new approach.

For one month from today, we're going to run a different sort of poll - one where you can write in your answers. When you click here you'll be taken to an off-site poll. Once there you'll be able to write in up to six suggested questions that you'd like to see appear in the referendum.

There's no obligation to come up with six - one is fine. When you submit the poll you'll be able to return straight back here.

When you submit your responses, they'll go into a database. We'll then read through it all and attempt to find some consensus of opinion as to the burning issues you'd like to see put to the people of Wanganui.

Once we've narrowed down the field, we'll then run a second poll to find which suggestions are most popular. We hope all this technology works...

A permanent link to the poll will appear on the LawsWatch Polls site for the next 30 days, so the poll will remain accessible even when this post is archived.
